So, I was all set this weekend to get my 2 points and my yellow Associateship ribbon at tonight's Awards Dinner. And guess what... - I got 3 points! However, I had forgotten all about the "Two-Year" rule, which states that you must be a full member of the AIPP before you are eligible for your ribbon, and I still have a year to go! So, despite the fact that I have all the points I need, they are going to make me wait an agonising 12 months before they present me with my piece of yellow fabric. Dam-n!
On the plus side, Pete also got all of his Associateship points this year, which means that I'll get my ribbon before him, since he needs to wait until 2010 until he can collect. I'm a vindictive bitch, I know.
Pete, of course, did me one better and got himself a nice shiny gold award on one of his prints (shouting "YES!" as the result was announced... not such an anonymous system, then). Well done, baby! And I'd like to say "I told you so" about leaving that pretty plant in the shot.
So, next year's goal is to get me a Silver flush with at least two Silver Distinctions. It's not impossible, but I have to start shooting about now to be ready in time. Fingers crossed...
So, APPA Presentation Dinner tonight ($125 for yummy non-vegan food and drink at the Tivoli) and I can't wait! Looks probable that a friend will pick up the shiny chunk of glass for Illustrative Photographer of the Year and I can't wait to get frocked up in my new pink dress and head off for a night out on the town with my boy, frizzy rain-hair and all!
Ciao!
